From personal experience it takes a whole lot of confidence to approach someone you fancy in a mixed bar. Fellow mental health sufferers, survivors, advisors and carers are also especially welcome.
The only thing you left out is, after doing all that, they barf it up! Similar thing with hen's nights - and I understand that women might go to a gay bar because they are sick of being harassed in straight bars and just want a night out.
