As adolescents and young adults, they are happier and more satisfied with their lives than previous generations. Only around 30 percent of school districts in the country have anti-bullying policies that specifically mention LGBTQ kids, and thousands of other districts have policies that prevent teachers from speaking about homosexuality in a positive way.

But to fall passionately in love with a guy is too much, though he might have quite strong feelings and cuddle with a best friend. The term gay is sometimes used to describe homosexual individuals of either sex. I welcome the fact that the generation that followed mine was able to make freer choices to be themselves and not be so constrained by the hostility I grew up in.
These kinds of beliefs can make things difficult for LGBT teens. These masculinity norms exert a toll on everyone, even their perpetrators. Because I am one end of the spectrum, I find it difficult to imagine a continuum. I think that this means that people can find themselves attracted to people of all sexes, even if they have a preference for masculine or feminine people.

According to Dane Whicker, a clinical psychologist and researcher at Duke, most gay men report that they want to date someone masculine, and that they wished they acted more masculine themselves. The researchers I spoke to explained that gay guys inflict this kind of damage on each other for two main reasons.
These experiences, by themselves, do not necessarily mean that a person is gay or straight.
